Tommy's really got little Rocky (13" beagle) going great. We killed three rabbits for him in about two hours today. The only bad thing was the amount of snow still down in the thickets. I'd guess there's 3 to 4 feet of snowpack in the shaded places. No real warm weather in the ten day forecast although it's supposed to start hitting the mid-40s by the end of the period. Potential for more snow early in the week. Hopefully it will be all gone by the time dogs start arriving for Grouse Camp in June. ;)
We did run dogs yesterday and Jack and Frankie had a divided find on a grouse with the Little Thudster backing Jack and Trip backing Frankie.

Dog Food Score
Today Tony and I drove down to Concord to go to PETCO to get some dog food. They were having a sale and I asked them to hold a bunch for us. The list price on the 20 bags of ProPlan Performance and one bag of grain free ProPlan Select was $1013.79. That's crazy right. Well not really. The food was on sale for 20% off and we had a 10% off coupon that we had received in the mail. That gave us a total savings of $283.90. On top of that we had eleven $7.00 Purina checks between us to knock another $77.00 off the direct cost to us. This brought the per bag cost for the 37.5 lbs bag of ProPlan Performance down to around $31.00 a bag. If we'd had more checks it would have been even lower. The sale at PETCO continues until Saturday.

More Puppy Pics
Puppies being puppies.
Tony and I rode over to see the Jack X Belle puppies today and spent about an hour watching them play with each other and various items they found around the garage. At first we tried to take the five girls outside but it was so cold we had to coax them out the door and then didn't stay out very long.
Back in the garage they were fun to watch. And then it got a little hectic when we let the five boys out with their sisters.
After about an hour of hard playing they ended up sprawled out on the rug, dog bed, and the first step.
Been running the dogs in the snow lately. Moved four grouse yesterday. Reports of woodcock to our south and east along the coast. More snow tomorrow night and during the day on Tuesday. Deciding to go to Rhode Island to run Jack in Southern New England Woodcock Championship will be a last minute thing.
