Wild Apple Annie |
Tony and I road over to New York Saturday to pick up Wild Apple Annie from the Formans. Mark and Deb met us in Cobbleskill and we went to "Little Italy" for lunch (If you've been to the NY Grouse Ch. you know the place). Annie is a full sister to Wild Apple Jack and is built a lot like her mother Elhew Liebotschaner. A lot of the females in the four litters we had of that pairing were quite fine boned. I am glad to see that Annie has filled out into a nice rugged bitch. She already has an appointment with our reproductive vet to get an Ovuplant insert on January 26th if she doesn't come in on her own before then. She will be bred to LJ early in February and we should have pups on the ground from her before taxes are due in April. After she whelps her pups she's going to stay here and you may see her in the fall at some of the wild bird trials. The Formans got both puppy and at least one open derby placement on her when she was younger. if we can't get her back in shape for the early trials she'll definitely make the hunting string for the fall.
It's looking good for the Jack X Trip litter as well, Trip seems to be thickening a little although its too early (it will be four weeks Friday) to really tell. I'll have the vet check her on the 26th and hopefully have some more definitive information.
